I read a few reviews before buying this item, but I was also fortunate in that I saw it at my local pet store before buying, so I knew exactly what I was getting. One of the people reviewing the product stated she was a bit disappointed initially, due to the actual size and construction of cardboard, however, it is so much more than that. I read the description first, so I knew that it was highly compressed cardboard, great for cat scratching, and I knew that there were multiple pieces within certain sets. I was still not sure that I would be happy with the construction, however, so ... fortunately for me, my pet store had this very same system on display and they have 3 cats roaming the pet store that love it. When I saw it, touched it, felt the weight of it, I knew it was the highest quality of construction and was solid and weighted so that the cat(s) will not tip it over...... it is beautiful, can be rearranged when kitty gets "bored," and it is easily dusted when needed with a vacuum attachment. It is packaged so very meticulously, with minimal extraneous packaging for disposal, and it has the clips inside to attach the blocks in any form you and your kitty prefer..... cat nip is included as well as a box of adorable little 'cardboard' spherical toys.My brand new kitty latched on to this system the second I arranged it. she loves it !!! I am so happy I made the investment in this system. IT is well worth every dime. You will not be disappointed if you realize it is cardboard, but highly compressed, quality cardboard, that is more like a piece of contemporary furniture that a cat scratching system, though it is exactly that. I am planning to purchase a second set for another room, so my kitties can enjoy it around the house. It looks great with my decor, and best of all, it does exactly what it is intended to do..... keep kitty from destroying the expensive leather and fabric furniture !!!
